March 6: Our Winter Museum Donations - Presented by Janet Jacobs, David Greer, Karen Smith and Gloria Parsisson

Each year brings new and important donations to our Museum. Our KCHS Trustees will present the medical tools used by Knox Co. physician, Dr. John W. Russell as well as personal items of Danville's Dr. Pauline Freeman, and information on the beautiful and historic millstone from the Mt. Liberty area.

 

April 3: A Visit to The Woodward Opera House - Presented by Patrick Crow - at The Woodward Opera House,

107 S. Main St., at 7:30 p.m.

The recent official reopening of Mount Vernon's exquisite Woodward Opera House highlighted the beauty and elegance of theaters from days gone by. For our April meeting, our members and friends will gather at the Woodward for a special illustrated history of the theater, followed by a tour of the entire facility.

May 1: Mount Vernon Middle School History Projects - Presented by MVMS Social Studies Teacher, Erin Gottke

Several MVMS students will again be presenting their top-rated social studies projects on a wide variety of local, national and international topics.

 

June 5: The Knox County Sports Hall of Fame - Presented by Phillip Houbler

Knox County has a long history of outstanding athletes and teams in a variety of sports. Our KCHS Trustee, Phil Houbler, will serve as Master of Ceremonies as we recognize the first inductees into our new "Knox County Sports Hall of Fame."
