September 4: Mount Vernon’s Industrial History presented by Lucas Kreuzer

Kenyon College student, Lucas Kreuzer, recently concluded his study of the economic and social impact of our major industries in Mount Vernon from the early 1800's through the present day.

His illustrated report will present his assessment of our changing industrial landscape over the past two centuries.

 

October 2: The Long Road to Women’s Suffrage

This year marks the 100th anniversary of U.S. Congress passage of the 19th amendment to our Constitution, giving women the right to vote. We will learn of the decades of struggle by so many women who fought for the advancement of women's rights, resulting in the ratification of the amendment in 1920.
